Reviews summarize and interpret existing work. Laboratory studies examine biological mechanisms. Observational studies identify patterns and associations. None of those designs, on its own, proves that a clinical program produces a particular patient outcome.

Compared viral antibody responses and immune profiles in 58 people with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis and 60 controls. Associations with disability and inflammation raise questions for further study; the design does not demonstrate that antiviral treatment improves multiple sclerosis.

Examined relationships between autoantibodies and symptoms in 244 individuals. Anti-AGTR1 antibodies were associated with greater symptom accumulation. These associations do not, by themselves, establish causation or a treatment strategy for long COVID.

Tested whether antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 proteins reacted with human tissue antigens in laboratory assays. The findings support further investigation of immune cross-reactivity; they do not establish an individual patient’s diagnosis or predict vaccine or treatment safety.
